The guy basically prompted me and let me consult the algorithm flow chart. The only guys who actually knew the shit were already medics who were just doing a refresher, but I'll bet money everybody got a card that day. It was pretty much disgraceful. The idea was that we were still in the course and would be learning the material in the future. Let's just say that if somebody has pressure in their chest, nausea and sweating, I'm calling a fucking professional.

Just to put your mind at ease, I am NOT a working EMT, it's just something I did to round myself out.

Oh, and something I've learned at work: there are plenty of smart and capable people from 3d world shithole countries, and you'd never know it if you didn't talk to them.

carpet installer, yes things are stolen if your not home, and yes it can be done faster.

bartender, we didnt mix with water but we did mix cheap stuff and top shelf. we did also fuck someone for free drinks.

burger king is the worst job in the world. fuck the BK lounge. you take orders from someone two years older than you who wants to take advantage of the fact that you banged his GF.

Also, social service jobs like group home worker, etc. have mostly female employees.

Gossip and bitching behind people's backs is a past-time for many of them and, in the 2 places I've worked, is enough for the company to have to make specific policies dealing with it and specific hiring criteria based on how you would handle disagreements with co-workers and gossip.

I sell pipeline equipment to refineries, power plants, paper mills etc -

* When selling to any company dealing with nuclear products, we have to sign the official secrets act. We are made to promise never to reveal what is being delivered, when and by whom. This is because in the past when this information was revealed, fake delivery drivers have turned up on site (ie terrorists).

* That still happens a lot at some plants (most commonly people stealing alcoholic drinks).

* BP, Shell, Texaco, etc are going to suck up every bit of oil they can find. They have no morals.

* The same goes for India and China. Upper-management types are creaming themselves over the amount of money there is to be made in these countries.

* If you want to be rich, invest in a company called Thermal Designs. They sell a coating on products that is a fucking nightmare. It foams up in a fire, to protect whatever is inside, but it's heavy, stops maintenance work, and costs an insane amount. However it's all the rage as it is the easiest way for the manager of a plant to look like he cares about safety.

* Around 50% of lines in a petrol refinery are too badly maintained to shut in an emergency.

* American refineries/chemical plants are really arrogant about safety. They are at least 30 years behind the rest of the world for safety standards. They are also far more willing to accept poor quality, cheap products. We have a line of products just for them...

* The Finnish are the most boring people in the whole world. (our company is based there)

* Even if the rampant sexual assaults and inbreeding aren't enough to put you off - never buy a house in Middlesbrough (UK). I know what is coming out of the chimneys of the plants there, and it is some nasty stuff. I don't know how anyone can see the age of 20 in that town.
