I think most people realize this b/c I never sold to many.

I've read this in a few articles recently and am a bit surprised. I've recently purchased extended warranties for my video iPod and my PS2 when I bought it years ago. I ended up using my PS2 warranty about two years after buying it because it just wore out (the warranty cost $50) and I just sent my iPod in a month ago (~2 years after buying it) because the battery was really weak and it was shutting down randomly. This warranty also cost me about $50.
Do people buy warranties that are shorter than the life-span of what they're buying, do they lose their warranty slips/receipts? I've got a special shoe-box for mine.

I would assume you don't need to put your warranty receipt in your "shoebox" if you registered the product with the company alongside with your extended warranty. Meaning they would have all that information on their computers.

I bought a warranty with my washer and dryer. They might not be likely to break, but they were like $2500, and spending an extra $70 is worth the peace of mind.

Auto Mechanics: Not all of them are trying to rip you off, but you may be charged much more than you should have been. For example they go off a flat labor rate which means even if it takes them twenty minutes to change your brake pads they will charge an hour+ worth of labor. It's also very common for shops to "guess" what is wrong with the car, throw a part at it, and hope that solves the problem. It doesn't really matter if they had to put unneeded parts on your car because when you come to pay they'll tell you it was all required.
Security guards: They don't guard much. Many times when they see something clearly wrong they'll look the other way just so they don't have to get involved. Also they rarely allowed to physically stop you from doing anything. Instead they're told to call the police.
Fast food: They drop your food on the floor and think nothing of picking it up and putting it back on your plate.

They'll also get you on the towing fee. We got a quote from a tow truck saying it would cost $90 and when we got the car fixed and everything the towing fee was $135. Pay the towtrucker up front so you don't have to deal with that.

When i was working in a special area in a life-science-business I found out that the stealing of business knowledge by other firms orwas/is a real problem .
We were always told to be cautious as hell when, for example chinese business-partners were visiting us, hiding any sign that might show with whom else we were working with and stuff like that.
