Oh, i got another one. Don't buy sodas or candy or any food from retail stores. They're not fresh. Stick to buying that shit from mini markets and grocery stores, they have a higher turnover on that kind of stuff so it's not sitting around as long.

They told us that in the Coors Brewery tour. I was surprised they let us in on that bit of info.

Some retailers purposefully destroy goods prior to trashing them to prevent scavengers/homeless from finding anything worth keeping.
My buddy used to work at Sony where they would manufacture games, cds, etc and said that they had 55 gallon drums all over filled with discs with minor defects. He said that they worked fine but just had some minor problem. All these discs went into the trash and the employees weren't allowed to take them.

The "practically" part is a big difference. I like Coors, but when I've tried drinking Keystone I literally gag. The only time I've hated losing when playing Beer Pong was when the cups were filled with Keystone.

Insurance companies all take out policies with each other to protect/cover themselves when they have to pay out claims.

For instance, you have homeowners insurance with Nationwide. You have a $5,000 claim that they pay you. Nationwide is not out $5K, because they pool the risk with other insurance compaines. AllState, Farmers, Prudential, State Farm etc. insured Nationwide for claims they have to pay out.

Then, Nationwide raises your premiums a little (or a lot) when your next yearly renewal comes around.
