I have one.
If you win an auction on Ebay and pay using PayPal it is extremely easy to get your money back. All you have to do is pay when you win and wait for the person to send you the package. Once the package arrives at your house, chances are they will give you good feedback for paying on time. Once that is done you launch a complaint with PayPal and tell them you never received the package but paid in full. 9 out of 10 times PayPal will refund you your money in full regardless of what the seller says. They have a policy that favors the buyer. They want people to be sending money so they can make take their percentage, if someone gets screwed they won't stick with PayPal and the company losses money.

I've had someone do this to me and they took money out of my Paypal account. I know they received the item and even provided Paypal with all the information they asked for to prove the item was sent. They still took the money out of my account. On the other hand, when I received an item that was broken and not as described, I filed a complaint with Paypal and after a few weeks they sent me an email saying they couldn't get anything from the guy because his Paypal account had no money in it. Man, I hate thieves.

The state testing mentality of schools is only existent in the schools with really good reputations. Most schools that house "bad kids" or that are looked down on by the town typically house the most caring teachers and staff. This exists in my area, at least.
As far as Best Buy goes, they are a pretty decent company, but those stores can be foreign countries from one to another, so get to know the staff a little before making a large purchase and see if they're trying to fuck you. They don't make commission on anything, though, ever.
The worst ripoffs in the store come from computer accessories (DYNEX brand, ROCKETFISH brand, etc.) from generic companies that they mark up a fuckton of money for. That guy talking about the USB cable is quite right, but in my area, the cable costs $33.99 and the employees can get it for less than $2.00. The worst section of the store is the Car Audio department. They sell 75 cent cables for $15-20.

Of course you know that. But did you know how they get the answers they come up with? I worked for one briefly when I was 18. The manager didn't want to me to answer any questions directly and didn't want me to be "intentionally" misleading. So she told me to do what she does, which is to write a bunch of vague answers on a piece of paper then hold a piece of string with a crystal attached at the bottom. Move the string in a circular motion and which even answer it stops on, there you go. Stupid shit, and the fact that she tried to make the lying process somewhat mystical was just retarded.
|
new age ppl actually believe that's a valid way to discern the truth. the string and crystal thing is called a "pendulum." it's supposed to channel the universe's energy into getting the right answer.

Oh, a law tip from a lawyer: It's frickin' impossible to collect on debts. Our society has too many laws that protect against it. If somebody gets a court judgment, they will still have a hell of a time getting the money from you. For this reason, I always advise one simple thing in any civil dispute: Be the guy who has the money. Do not pay the money. Whoever has the money has *everything.*

not Impossible. I living proof. I ran up a debt on a credit card( about 1200) over TEN years. well anyway didnt pay, so the company gave up after a while and gave it to a collection agency. well they tried for a while soon it was passed from one agency to another year after year. this went on for YEARS untill finally one company pulled some new tatics. They got a court ruling and found my place of employment. BAM garnished my wages. Left job found new one BAM tracted me down again. hell were ever I go they find me and take a little every week. Whats worse the original 1200 multiplied to3500 from various bullshit penilities.
if you got any advice help me the fuck out

Read what I wrote earlier regarding credit validation. It can and should be done at any point in time, regardless if you've already started paying. Once you request validation they have to stop their collection for 30 days and respond by either giving you proper validation or dropping it. Sometimes they respond with something that doesn't even prove you owe the debt and tell you it's now validated. If so, you come back at them and demand again with a different type of validation letter. There are other steps to take after that but it will derail this thread. First step for you is Validation Letter and send it via certified mail with return receipt. That way they have to sign it once received and you'll get a receipt showing it so they can't say they didn't receive your request. If you need more check out this forum:
http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showforum=2
It's the best I've come across regarding credit, collection agency shady practices and how to fight them.

you could just not run up debts you are not willing to pay. The guys chasing you are trying to make money for their lives and families, you are screwing them by doing this. They arent the bad guys, you spent their money!!

That's surprising, as it usually costs them thousands of dollars in fees to collect such a debt, which isn't worth it.
At any rate, my advice definitely isn't "don't pay your debts," it's "make sure that if there is a dispute, you are the one with the money." That gives you all the cards in dealing with the other side. You may ultimately structure a settlement or deal (such as paying back at a discount), but you want the other side to be over a barrel.
