So if you go into a restaurant or liquor store or wherever, they are not allowed to make you buy $10.00 worth of stuff before you can use your VISA. They are not allowed to make you buy even 1 cent. The stores do this because they are charged by VISA for every transaction and they lose money if you don't buy something that costs more than what they are charged. Regardless, VISA will drop some heavy fines on the establishment or discontinue their service altogether if they find out about it.

They just can't MAKE you buy more, but they can tell you to get lost altogether.
VISA's policy is very clear that a retailer/business accepting VISA payments can at anytime refuse payment. So if some guy tries to pay 1 cent for something using his VISA card, the retailer can refuse the payment and basically tell him no.
There's always some law that makes the law protecting the consumer obsolete.

Shit, I have tons of stuff.
This is from a friend that's a dentist, taken from my inbox on facebook, word for word:
Ha! My job is sort of criminal too. Frauding insurance, drilling when unneccessary, tons of it, man! But to fight that off I justify that my rent is expensinve and I've got student loans to pay. =/
Straight from the dentist's mouth. *pun*
Just thought you'd appreciate the heads-up.

What do you guys expect from Socialized govt-systems. Not to be a conspiracist or anything but when was the last time the elite ruling class demonstrated any faith in public schools, local police, etc...
Rich Kids = Private Schools
Rich communities = Private/Homeland Security
It's all designed to suppress the masses.
*sorry.. ive been reading too much Chomsky

It is monumentally, insanely ludicrous to allow the same person to diagnose you, operate on you, and decide how much to charge you....it really is.

The masses aren't being suppressed unless you mean suppressed by themselves. Even in a totalitarian state the masses rule regardless. Its their folly if they are tricked or led.
I wasn't making a comment on the school or LE systems, they operate that way because of the adoption of game theory into politics. It says that people will always do whats best for their own self interest, and altruism is irrelevant in a normal person's mind. So the way they structure public services is incentive based, you meet these requirements and you receive incentives based on that. The healthcare system is an especially striking example of this. If you want to know more watch BBC's doc The Trap http://video.google.ca/videoplay?doc...arch&plindex=0

Not to mention that a lot less people have dental insurance than medical insurance, so it's all out of pocket. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled I was lucky enough to have it covered by my health insurance company because they were impacted or not impacted, I don't remember which. I do remember my dentist being cool as shit and making sure I was covered for the proceedure, though.

Sure, they can track what you watch and for how long; what you order on PPV, and stuff like that. This info is useful for them. Video of you (provided that your cable box is facing your couch), on the other hand does not have any value.
I can believe that some crooks can do that and use that to case your house, but I don't believe that cable company does that.

I can't say one way or the other if their use is widespread or not, but what I do know is that you could get a ton of data from it and it would be worth every penny.

75% of the Paramedics i know, i wouldn't let take my fucking blood sugar. In the particular area i'm in now, grades do not matter just as long as you pay your tuition bill. The National Registry test is also a joke that even the dumbest of assholes who skated through that class cheating and making shit up could pass.
there is really no QA process as far as the Oklahoma dept of health goes. The state is more concerned with the whether or not your truck or chopper is washed than they are with actual pt care. most actually don't know enough about actual patient care to make an informed decision as to whether an action or treatment was justified. so basically you can kill someone with the wrong drug dose or even abandon patients as long as your truck is clean and you're chummy with the inspector
