high school teacher - my girl is a high school science teacher. the school board isn't concerned with academic growth as much as they're concerned with state test grades. every state has their own general evaluation testing that they run, and then those figures are compiled and released back to show state performance rankings in respect to which states are doing well and which are doing poorly. anyway, the school board tells the teachers to "teach to the test", meaning, don't worry about giving a complete run down of what needs to be learned, just cover what's on the state exams. Make sure they know that, and THEN you can move on to the other portions of the subject. But as all of you know, you don't end up covering all that you should have.
Basically, kids are getting cheated out of a full education in order for us to rank higher on a state-wide scale, which still pales in comparison on an international level. This is one reason why America ranks so low on the world's scale of education; we're half-assing and covering up, as usual.

It does not make sense. If it is true, what are the going to do with video? What is going to happen to the company if somebody looks inside the box and sees the camera? Sounds like conspiracy theory stuff to me.
Sounds like you don't want to believe it.

If there is so much data they cannot filter it, then why obtain it? It sounds like a poorly thought-out plan, which begs questions to its veracity.
I don't think anyone's sayin' you're a liar, it's just that dog don't exactly hunt.
I know, I did not implement the plan I just refurbed the boxes. Like I said previously just like onstar and other two way communications you are all being monitored and recorded but what they do with all the info besides store it (if they even do that) is beyond me. Just look at the contract if it has what I said previous they you are being monitored via audio or video.

another one about police: they aren't meant to protect life, like if you call them and say someone is definitely coming to kill you right now the 911 operator will ask you if your life is in danger at this time and/or if the person trying to kill you is present. Otherwise no one will be dispatched, unless you can point out some other crime is being committed in the vicinity.
Also, the post above about public schools and their quotas rings true with police departments in a way. Schools get funding based on test scores just as PDs get funding based on their crime rate, rate of violent crime especially, and numbers of arrests. A tried and true way for PDs to get more funding is to label any semi-violent crime in a minority nieghborhood as being gang related, then they get an anti-gang task force and more funding as well as more human resources. Theres many other ways they 'fudge' numbers though. I won't even get into the revenue collection schemes which are just as ridiculous and convoluted.

Thats no child left behind for you. My dad is a teacher and he is just as upset about it as anyone. He finds ways around it though, but some teachers just arn't as creative.
Also if your girl needs the test you may be able to find them at

It does not sound very plausible to me that the cable company installs 100$ _wireless_ cameras (which is what VC-22PW appears to be) inside a cable box to collect info that's not only useless to them, but will cause a lot of trouble if anybody finds out about that (and considering that toughtsone knows about it, it is not that secret).
Sure, they can track what you watch and for how long; what you order on PPV, and stuff like that. This info is useful for them. Video of you (provided that your cable box is facing your couch), on the other hand does not have any value.
I can believe that some crooks can do that and use that to case your house, but I don't believe that cable company does that.
CPR and ACLS protocols are not based on anything other than psuedo-science, faulted "studies", and at times even urban myths. Most ACLS protocols are complete and total bullshit. It's actually up to the cardiac monitor and AED companies to do the real research, that's why optimal energy selection for manual defib fluctuates from one product to the next in most cases
