QFT.
The people work hard and they really don't want any trouble. I'm against illegal immigration and support deportation, but the honest truth is, the housekeepers are mostly illegal, they are the hardest working and most honest people in the whole hotel.
It sucks because one day I was working front desk and a housekeeper found a room (occupant had long-since checked out and paid cash) that literally had shit all over it: on the floor in the bathroom, the bedroom, smeared on the toilet the walls, the linens, everything. The poor house keeper had to go in there and clean it all up.

True. Anyone who has ever worked in customer service knows that the type of people that complain are usually assholes who will find anything to complain about and probably just want to get comp'd.

This is not true for all hotels, at mine (Hilton-family hotel) it would just say movie, but you could tell it was porn by how much the charge was (I think it was $12.99)

Adressed many times, this is true for just about any major service company.

I was a night auditor for about a year and this is Absolutely 100% true. Honestly, there is nothing else to do.
Also, to add another story, it's probably not a secret but those magnetic key cards can be monitored. We had a guy who worked Night Audit before me and he got written up for trying to sneak his buddies into unoccupied rooms to party with girls late at night. He thought he was clever because he would let them go to rooms that were used that day, so the housekeepers wouldn't catch on. However, they caught him because the managers can view every key card that was magnetized in the machine at the front desk and every time the card was used and where. They looked at the ones that were made and noticed a couple for rooms of guest that had already checked out. BUSTED!!!

I worked at an assisted living place and I can vouch that the place was extremely clean. Granted this was a higher-end place, but we had high school working there and they weren't jerk-offs like others mentioned in this thread.

Wall Street
on wall street:
investment bankers: majority are dumb, but work their ass off, like 16+hour days, especially in M&A.
traders: the market-makers and flow traders are usually great multi-taskers though they all have severe ADD and treat everyone around them like shit, while prop traders tend to be very intelligent and sharp, though socially awkward.
and as a rule, they ALL think they're better than you. seriously.

In film and TV shows you can see the key light being reflected in the actors eye. in close ups this is visible 90% of time. Kind of ruins movie magic doesn't it?
P.S - after a while of doing this, you can start to tell which lights they are using and why.

The only think you get from milk is fat and whatever chemicals they pumped into the cow. You want calcium? You'll get way more from dark green veggies and a half-dozen almonds.
Oh yeah... and osteoperosis only exists in dairy-consuming countries. In places like China where they don't drink milk, they have strong bones at 90. Osteoperosis is unheard of. They don't have rampant heart disease either.
Most of those "food pyramids" you see on school walls and such are 90% sponsored by the dairy commission. They often even have the cow in the corner.

Hehe, same here. I've meant to do some dedicated reading on milk for a long time now but haven't got around to it.

These are some that I can offer;
A lot of nightclubs hire bouncers with absolutely no training or experience (a lot of them are actually friends of other bouncers), and pay cash under the table, so that they don't have to deal with insurance, tax or benefits (or even liability for that matter).
Most companies that train security/hire out Security Guards, Bouncers, Ticket Inspectors, etc. encourage their people to overstep their legal boundaries (which is often no more than that of a regular citizen) because the law will always favour their version of events, which can actually lead to legal consequences for you (eg: they will beat you up for doing whatever, then say that you tried to assault them - so they were defending themselves - then the police bring assault charges against you).
Although I will say that bouncers will often line you up for 'special treatment' if you cause trouble or are arrogant towards their authority (so be nice). Also, many bouncers are also offered free drinks while on the job - great mix eh?
---
Most people who work at stores like Dick Smith, JB Hifi, Apple Shop, most shoe shops, sporting goods stores, etc., know almost nothing about what they are selling and will often try to bullshit you into getting the item (so do your own research and don't listen to anything they say because they will say pretty much anything to make a sale), particularly with electronics when they are trying to sell them to people who don't really have much on idea about them (which is easy because the first thing that most people say is "I don't know anything about this...").
Also check around and compare prices from a lot of stores and ask them to beat the prices, which they often do (or offer something free), and don't be afraid to walk away (often they make a last ditch offer before you try to leave), and then just come back in an hour (I got $48 off a camera that was originally ~$300).
