Sounds to me like they decided to go light on the games content and bank on the graphics and multi player to sell it so they can release extra content at a later date.
I think so. A very cheap move.

I haven't played GTAIV yet, but it's very refreshing to see an objective review. It seems that almost all video games sites and reviewers are calling this game one of....if not the greatest game ever. I'm sure this is not the case. I've seen plenty of people on this forum have their complaints on GTAIV.
I think a lot of it has to do with hype. Hype clouds one's judgement. That and it is extremely unpopular for one gaming site to differ radically from other people's assessment. That is why you rarely see a difference between reviews.

I think Rockstar simply dropped the ball on keeping the "sandbox" aspect alive and well. The game will not have the replay and "play for an hour" fun that SA or VC had.

I frequent other message boards and this is the ONLY board that has this many complaints about this game. MOST people out there are loving this game.

Yeah I mean to me SA was so much of an evolution from VC, which itself was a great game The bicycles, base-jumping, new weapons and planes, stealth kills, character customization and RPG elements took a great action game and made it more complex and deeper. I dont really see why they coldnt have maybe took out 1 or 2 of the less popular items but then improved and expanded on the SA improvements. I mean its not like you're forced to play those elements if you don't want to hell i know people who never even play the missions and just fuck off in the game.

I think the real reason they did it was to release a quick product for a quick buck and pave the way for download-able content players could buy later.

Grand Theft Auto producer is Godfather of gaming - Times Online

It took them 3 and a half years to make and roughly 100M invested in it.

It doesn't matter... as of right now

Right now, it's an overhyped, overrated game.

Exactly. SA evolved the series tremendously in its gameplay improvements. GTA4 took us back.

Two endings < All that shit lost.

Well that's your opinion and you're entitled to that. However, the majority of people out there don't agree with you.
