my dad is loaded

ok heres the back story

he started his company with his brother in there bed room 25 years ago
they have just been offered 8 million pounds for it

after tax they should end up with 3 million in the bank

carefully invested it should take in 180 thousand pounds a year

down side he has too work for the company for two years. then he is free

he is 48.


this is good for me cause whatever happens at some point in my life i will inherit 1 .5 million pounds atleast

how ever. it makes me feel unmotivated

anyone elce got rich parents who can share there experence and how it effected there life

they basicly surveyed parts for oil rigs too millimeter accuracy too save on welding costs later on. they also deal with land and property surveys.

they have offices in scotland malyaisa and thailand.

Do your own thing regardless of what your parents have and take anything else as a bonus. My parents do have much at all, and my inheritance wont be much, but even if it were a fortune I would still want to be my own man.

Are you not motivated to make your own mark on the world and not be a trust fun kid?

my dad just got divorced so hopefully he has some fun and gets some coke and hookers



but he is extreamly frugal and even though he is extreamly wealthy he will never pay more than he has too he also has no interest in status symbols. and even if he does blow it all he has masses off money tied up in property.

you make a great point

and sometime although it sounds really stupid i wish things were a bit harder for me

i find myself feeling imbarased at my money.

i tell people i am poor


i wanted to ask the safe anonimus internt there opinion.

but it means i have more freedom i guess

There are plenty of things you can do to have a positive impact on the world. Having money just means you have the opportunity to do more. Think NGO's, doctors without borders etc...

Do you have a "peace corp" like the US?
