similar threads to this may have been done before, if so, I apologize, but I have been dwelling on this for a few days.
I might get a little romo here, but I am gonna tell a story.
This weekend I was spending time with my dad, I am 26, he 47. Were were organizing our fishing tackle box for a fishing trip, just a little father son thing. I decide to throw on some music, both my dad and I like Lynyrd Skynyrd, so I put some on random. So here I am when the song Simple Man starts playing, I have heard this song a hundred times, but it never really clicked with me. Well the opening lyric hooks me and I start really listening to it. And it fucking smashed me, how brilliant the song was, how apt it was and how much sense it made. It just clicked, like this is THE life lesson, the one that changes you. As I listen to it I start thinking about my dad and how he has been living the example of the words in this song, he never said as much to me, but it is how he lives his life. So much shit just clicked in that moment and life got hammered into perspective.
Anyone else ever had a moment like this?

The video is one of the most depressing music video I've ever seen. Makes you wonder about all those guys who come back from Iraq and Afghanistan, and what those IEDs do to them.
"Father, I need help. I'm in terrible trouble, and I need help!"
