How many of your girlfriends have asked you to just leave them alone for a while..?

PLEASE READ, I NEED ADVICE, WORDS OF WISDOM, PERSONAL EXPERIENCES, ETC.

Been with her 2 months.

I guess I irritated my lady.

It was her best friends b-day dinner and get together last week. First we had dinner at a restaurant with like 35 other people I'd never met, I'm an easy to get along with person but being around this many strangers makes me a bit anxious which in turn causes me to not have very much fun.

I don't drink or smoke and I don't mind people who do but find that I'm not in a hurry to get acquainted with people my age (21) who do that stuff that I don't already know.

After dinner we go back to her best friends along with everybody else, where everybody but seemingly my lady and I proceed to start taking shots and drinking. I honestly would've been fine with just chillin' by myself texting my buddies on ma' cell phone while she mingles with her friends and such but she wanted to chill by me which I also appreciated. She tells me, "We could leave after they sing Happy Birthday" & I'm like, "Okay."

So...sure enough after Happy Birthday I ask her if we could go because it's awkward to be the only sober guy who's also a stranger around a group of what seems to be very closely knit friends.

Couple days ago we got into it because I guess she was still resenting me for asking to leave early.

So now she wants me to leave her be for a bit so that I could think about things and she could relax. We've been arguing fairly frequently lately for a couple that's only been together for 2 months I guess.

ADVICE PLEASE!!!

P.S. Should I take everything everyone says in here with a grain of salt???

mate im the same as you except my girl respects my feelings.

i dont need to associate with her friends because i have my own. i think you did very well being out of your comfort zone with all those people. hang in there for the make up sex but if it kicks off again shortly after (and it will) you need to walk

Being able to show a guy off is a big deal for a chick. If you couldn't be there and be something she felt her friends thought was cool, you're done. For some chicks it's not a big deal, but if a chick needs time to think and relax after that, she's the type it means a lot to.

There is obviously other issues besides just the one issue with the friends to be honest.

She lives about 30 miles away and drives down to visit me every weekend depending on my schedule and when I'm available, she brings me groceries and such, she takes care of me when I'm ill etc. so she's good to me.

She's just a bit moody and sensitive which to the best of my understanding is every female.
