Should I get an iTouch?
I am interested in being able to use this to access internet via WiFi - but is it worth it? Is it easy to browse the internet on that little screen? Is the wi-fi a good connection? What is all this jail break business? Sounds like breaking the warranty would be a no-no, and considering how much Apple upgrades their software versions it may not be a good idea.
Anyone have an iTouch or iPhone that can comment on the pros and cons?

nokia makes a few internet tablets for a whole lot less. It's not really useful though; That little screen gets annoying after a while. When you have no choice but a little screen, then you will use it.
IMO, it's a waste of money. I've used the iphone and while it has cool features, they seem more of a short lived gimmick.

Great at browsing photos.
Great at watching video.
Very good internet interface.
Slowly opening to applets.
Uses bad internet card so slower access than other smart phones (may not be true for the iPod Touch, but true for iPhone, could be a year before resolved due to patent licensing problems).
I have an 80gb iPod Video that is 70-80% full, hard to imagine dropping down to the dinky 16gb Touch.

get it. it uses wifi, so you need not worry about internet speed being a factor.

I have one and love it. Its great if you happen to do a lot of commuting and what not. The internet works well but really drains your battery life.
Definitely recommend.

If you already have a cell phone, I suggest you get a smartphone instead. I have a sprint with unlimited web and data for 30 bux a month. You get broadband anywhere without looking for wifi, and it costs a whole lot less. phone all-in-ones are pretty kick ass.
