Zoos are an important part of conservation and helping animals on endangered species lists. The only work of a zoo is not merely showing off animals, they do A LOT of work behind the scenes to help endangered species.

Now that we have internet, webcams, etc, you can see and learn about any animal you want. If you really want to see the animal in person, what a great excuse to go on a vacation!

I am all for the animal sanctuaries, where they do strive to give the animals the closest thing possible to their home. I am talking about the zoos where you see a cheetah pacing back & forth in a 50'X50' pen with some fake trees and some old tractor tires.

and before you start thinking that I am some PETA activist, I am NOT. I love me a good steak!!

what do you think?
i rather see sea world, and circus be closed.

I do not like the zoo at all. Seeing the big cats and bears locked in like that does not make me happy.

If the zoo is up to par, and if it can provide a great environment for animals, then I'm for zoo's.

and thats my eco friendly fix for the week

Inability to properly cage, control, maintain, etc. the animals isn't anything but idiocy.

I like zoos, but I hate the ape house. The gorillas in there know they are in prison. They look at you as if they are saying, "thanks for locking me up, cousin".
