Shitty summer jobs

As a poor college student, I need money. Summer is my time to try and scrape up a few dollars. Right now I'm working at an airport flagging in planes and shit. It's a pretty cool job I lucked into, and I guess by normal summer job standards isn't too bad.. but I get totally exploited because I'm younger than everyone. I get scammed out of hours and am often left just on call.

I'm sure some of you guys have had some hilarious/shitty summer jobs (for most of you, when you were younger). Any stories?

I had a job painting houses when I was 19. Working outside during the summer in Socal blows. Hard.

Sounds like a sweet gig you have though.

I was a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor from ages 15-19 during the summer at the public pool. It was a lot of fun and I always had a great tan.

I worked one summer cleaning the very school I despised going to throughout the school year. Oh.. and the school "paid" us through a reduction in the tuition.

Nothin' wrong with that dude. At least you were working towards something.

I made pizzas in the summer. It was hot as shit, but I worked with a couple of buddies and had a good time.

what are you majoring in? a lot of the departments have many summer jobs available for students, you just have to ask about them. they're good because they get you in tight with the dept and it can open a lot of doors in the future, etc. working on something even remotely related to your major is usually more entertaining than a random summer job.

mind you the airport thing sounds pretty decent.

A little less summer heat and a little spending cash on the side would have been a plus.
