He's actually become quite good since leaving that show. He's great in Brick and The Lookout.

Burn After ReadingIt was pretty good...I actually did think Brad Pitt was overplaying his bit most of the time...I think the soundtrack was epic, lol. The soundtrack, plot, and final scene was awesome.

Since you put Brick and The Lookout in the same range, I'll definatly check it out. Brick's highly recommended, a great little "crime" flick with a nice spin on the genre. I had to rewind the shit half the time to catch the dialogue.

That surprises me. I got a smile out of it and enjoyed it, but I certainly didn't find it laugh out loud funny.

QFT. It's been a really long time since I watched that and yet I still remember just about everything. Fantastic film.

Magnolia is the only film of his I think is better than average, so I can't agree here, but Magnolia is still great.

Tom Hanks was the only person in Forrest Gump who performed well whereas everyone in Pulp Fiction performed well, even people like Christopher Walken and Harvey Keitel, who weren't even in the film very long.

And from a filmmaking standpoint, Pulp Fiction puts Forrest Gump to shame. Everything from the writing to the directing to the cinematography to the music to the editing to the sound and everything in between was top-notch.

The same can't be said about Forrest Gump, which is very unspectacular filmmaking carried by a spectacular performance.

Very few films have a better soundtrack than Pulp Fiction and Forrest Gump isn't one of them. Not only are the songs Tarantino used great, but they work so well with the scenes.

The Son of a Preacher Man scene might be the best use of a preexisting song in a film.

exactly, these guys argue about sound, directing, acting, etc. and leave out the most important part: story, which is way better than pulp fiction. Not to mention Forrest Gump has alot more parts that tug at your emotions. And give me one aspect of Pulp Fiction that inspires anybody like Forrest Gump does.

I could probably write a thesis on how Forrest Gump shows the great side of america while pulp fiction shows the bad.

Forrest Gump is basically a fairy tale told by a lovable retard. Not awful imo, but why would you ever want to watch it a second time? Listening to Hanks accent for 3 long hours, and those pointless whimsical little fables...

Pulp Fiction is a stark contrast, rich with engaging performances. Shot brilliantly, unrivaled soundtrack and chock full of more quotable dialogue than any film of my generation that comes to mind.

Perhaps PF features unsavory aspects of US culture, at least the story is rooted in reality.
