Hell yeah, that's cool. I'm the same where more or less.

My thoughts on some of the ones on your list.

-A Scanner Darkly was pretty weird. I liked how it was done, I was just too drunk when I saw it to grasp it all I suppose. But it was interesting.
-The Ring 2 disappointed me. I liked the first one, that sequel was just bunk.
-Triplets of Bellveville, is that the French animated one? If it's what I'm think of, it was alright, worth the watch. I always thought the main guy looked like Adrien Brody with that big ass nose of his.
-Kentucky Fried Movie, I own that one, it's a classic!
-Any MST3K is awesome in my book, I miss those from the Sci-Fi channel from back in the day.
-Inside Man was pretty cool, I guessed the ending before hand, but it was a good watch.
-Freaks, that's a must watch for everyone.
-Along Came Polly, that's actually one of the few chick flicks I own, I liked it, but I have this thing for Jennifer Anniston. I liked The Break Up as well, thats on my shelf too.

I thought The Break Up was garbage. I was wanting the cliche ending and I just felt empty walking out. I hoped for more. One of my favorite chick flicks has got to be 50 First Dates hands down. It may be my love for Drew Barrymore. I just loved that movie. I also own other movies of hers that I haven't watched. I just own them because she's in them. I've got an odd fascination w/ her.

I'm watching the NBC series Fear Itself now. It's like a low key version of the Masters of Horror show on Showtime. It's more thriller than it is horror, because it's on network television. It's interesting thus far. Each episode is it's own self contained 45 minute movie. I've learned once again by watching this episode that you shouldn't trust strangers you meet in the woods. It's interesting to see what Hollywood can do on a budget. It's billed as, "A television series broken down into 13 separate 60-minute films from premiere horror writers and directors."

I've still got to finish the Masters of Horror series. They're about to release season 2.

What I liked about The Break Up was that they broke up immediately in the movie, they have all the problems throughout the flick, and then they never get back together. That's real life and one anti-Hollywood ending there. Plus since I lived in Chicago when I was younger, I'm a sucker for any movie that shows the city like they did. And I've always wanted to be a smart-ass tour guide like Vince was in it.

50 First Dates is cool, I like that one as well. I think I have a burned copy laying around somewhere. And I was going to watch that Fear Itself episode last night when it was on, but I had something come up out of nowhere that I had to leave the apartment to attend to, so I missed it.

Sweet, I'll check that out sometime this weekend, I'm too drunk to give it a watch at the moment.

HALF-NELSON is about the odd relationship between a teacher and a student when one finds out the other has a serious drug problem.

It does not make a huge point, which one would expect it to after such high praise -- but the story it does tell is effective and evocative in its small way.

If you followed this up with LARS AND THE REAL GIRL, or whatever it's called, you'd almost think you were watching the same film in terms of picture quality. Very indy, very human.

I'd also recommend a short new[er] movie with him called The Night Listener. The ending disappointed me, but leading up to it, I was very intrigued and wondering just what the hell was going on.

The Night Listener (2006)

Interesting movie that I think is worth the watch.

Awesome series. Are you seeing these for the first time or just rewatching them? The story behind Lethal Weapon 4 is one of the main reasons why I dislike Jackie Chan, who was offered Jet Li's role but turned it down because he didn't want to be the bad guy and have audiences not like him

Not only is this a horrible movie by itself, it was adapted from the first book in Jeffrey Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme series. The first five books in that series are among the best mystery/thrillers I've read, and The Bone Collector was an incredibly creepy book, everything great about it literally being ruined by that piece of shit movie.

If you're still thinking about watching it, then let me say this: Queen Latifah is in it.

QUEEN LATIFAH!

Underrated movie for sure. Like comedy, horror/thrillers are quite subjective. Everybody has the horror gimmicks that creep them out, the scare tactics that push their buttons while watching, and The Forgotten had practically all of mine, making it a very intense watch for me.

Enjoyable thriller with a supernatural twist to it that was actually quite cool IMO.

I don't know if you've seen it before, but if you haven't, hopefully you'll like it, because I for one did NOT.

Okay movie, though, if for no other reason for Jack Lemmon and for being able to see a young Mr. Hand

Watch the original Insomnia (yes the Al Pacino one is a remake of a foreign film).

It's not about comparing the two, but being completely engaged by Stellen Skarsgaard's performance, which is superior to Pacino's in every way.

I was on the other side of that argument.

I read in some magazine that Nicholas Cage wants to remake Bad Lieutenant. Christ, that's all we need, is a watered down Cage version of a classic.
