I don't think you're giving him nearly enough credit. He was good in both The Color of Money and Rain Man, was very good in Born on the Fourth of July, A Few Good Men, and Interview with the Vampire, and was great in Eyes Wide Shut, Magnolia, and Collateral.
He's not the world's greatest actor but he certainly isn't "craptastic."

And Terminator and T2 are two of my favorite flicks, now they're just ruining the series.

I'm pleased with the way Fox handled the series, starting it up where T2 left off and pretty much ignoring the existence of T3.

I wasn't a fan of the series to be honest. But I only watched the first 2 or 3 episodes and then gave up on it, so I have no idea if it amounted into something worth while or not to be honest.

What to do with Terminator.
The answer to the infernally worsening situation with Terminator and what to do with it is this.
1) Watch and accept the first 2 films as part of the series.
2) Watch and accept the television show as part of the series.
3) Forget everything else.
I was surprised at the quality of the show. It falls right in line with Terminator mythology. T3 & 4 don't even make sense in the vein of the series. The stories don't line up. Judgment day cannot be stopped, it can only be delayed. The attempt by T3 to explain that Judgment Day could be eliminated was preposterous to say the least. If you've watched the first 2 films and understand the origins of Judgment Day and what future John Connor is trying to do than you understand this.

I feel the same way HuntersCreed does. The show is very good and fits right in with the first two films, sort of pushing T3 aside (which is a good thing, IMO) and continuing with the teenage John Connor still trying to both survive attacks and make sure Judgment Day never happens.
I definitely think you should try to watch the first season online. I don't know when the second season is supposed to air (or begin filming if they haven't already) but I know I'll be watching when it premieres.

Here's what I've come up with on new information. Season 2 of TSCC returns to the air on September 8, 2008 at 8:00pm EST.
The season 1 dvd release is August 19.
I will be buying it. It was only a 9 episode season, because it was a test pilot and it got picked up.
BTW Paul Giamati is only 41 today. I think he's always looked 60.

Well if I find it online or when it gets released on dvd, I'll give it a whirl and see how I like it. If it fits as well as you and Hunter say, sounds like I need to give it a chance.

It is, but I think they're shooting a 23 episode season. That used to be the norm for tv shows. Fox is also doing something different in the fall for the sake of ratings. It's part of the genius that is Rupert Murdoch. Fox is cutting commercial time in half. I think it's a ploy to drive up ratings by giving the viewer significantly more show. This will increase the value of their commercial slots. If it works out right it will be a giant "Fuck you!" to all the other networks who have just added more commercials to cover costs.

Obviously you can't replace James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Linda Hamilton, but the storyline is faithful, accurate, and plausible, and the series on the whole was very entertaining (the finale was great).
It's definitely worth giving a second chance because you might like it. However, if you don't, at least there's always the first two movies.

That's pretty cool honestly.
And from the sounds of it, Fox is going to possibly win Jay Leno for their week-night talk show that they're wanting to launch in '09.
