The Strangers is actually an extremely solid film in the first 20 minutes. If there's a reason to watch it it's not Liv Tyler's pouty lips, but Bertino's directing. Unfortunately it all falls apart after that. The only horror film that's blown me away was [Rec].

Besides The Dark Knight, I'm really looking forward to The Wackness, Pineapple Express, and Tropic Thunder.

Also, Werner Herzog is doing a remake of Bad Lieutennat with Nicholas Cage. It's hard not to have mixed feelings about that.

I don't know what to say about actually seeing The Wackness. If it gets reviewed well I may be persuaded to see it. As of right now it looks terrible. I'll give you that I'd see it before the Zohan movie, but I'd shit my pants and like it before I saw the Zohan movie.

i would actually give "i am legend" a 7.5. i liek the messianic themes and thought they were cleverly done. it suffers from super bad cgi and will smith, but for an action movie it was structurally tight, clever, deep, and logical.

Will SMith did a great job as the lone character for much of the movie

That's how I balance things out. I'm going to see Hancock, and I expect more out of that than I got out of I Am Legend. I like that Will Smith finally got his digs in the superhero genre, and did it in a different way.

Movies I will be seeing in theatres this summer:
Wanted
The Incredible Hulk
The Happening
Hellboy II: The Golden Army
Hancock
Kit Kittredge: An American Girl
The Dark Knight
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
The X-Files: I Want to Believe
The Midnight Meat Train

Movies I will NOT be seeing in theatres this summer:
You Don't Mess With The Zohan
The Strangers
The Love Guru
WALL·E
Step Brothers
Meet Dave
Kung Fu Panda
Get Smart
Kung Fu Panda has Jack Fucking Black a must see
I'll probably watch Zohan aswell

and BAtman of course

I absolutely hate the fact that they didn't show the shootout and instead one second Brolin's flirting at the pool and the next second Tommy Lee Jones is driving and all of a sudden a bunch of Mexicans peel out in a Jeep shooting at somebody.
I thought that it seemed somewhat odd as well, rushed or something. Seems like a portion was cut from the film.

I've got a stupid question, did Anton follow through and kill the girlfriend as promised? Im not clear on what happened there.

bash Cruise all you want, he was brilliant in Collateral
Your praise of his role is the reason I decided to check it out. Thanks for the suggestions.
