I think Transformers was definitely a top 21 movie!

Not that the Big L was the best flick ever, but the cast and way it was done and shot was great! And the story is simple, but it just works so well.
Spun, that movie made my head and stomach hurt.
Honestly, a lot of the drug-inspired flicks annoy me and make my stomach hurt. That almost sounds weird to say since I was a former-druggie, but it's true, those movies just annoy me now. I like the cinematography of Requiem for a Dream, but that movie pisses me off. I'll probably catch shit for this, but I hate Trainspotting too.

I cannot believe the style and energy of TRAINSPOTTING does not win you over. Well, I can believe it . . because your[sic] a LOSER!
KISS KISS BANG BANG and SPARTAN are highly recommended by the Yours Truly.

let's 'scuss a moar SERIOUS movie-
"adaptation"
kaufman is an effing awesomepants. not only did him writed an ultraclever self-referential ******, but he was able to make write it in such a way that makes you enjoy sitting through nicholar cage not only starring but playing 2 characters.
that puts the film at an 11/10 according to my math but also puts him in an elite group along with PTA* and the wachowskis who can write up a ****** indended for abysmal acting in a way that makes it fit the film in an enjoyable way.
*in "punch drunk love," adam sandler did not play a serious role well. he was written in as the centerpiece of a serious film and did his normal shitty acting.

I thought it was a decent movie when I was a 16 year old loser, but today it does absolutely nothing for me. But what can I say, I'm more into...you know...good movies.

"trainspotting" is brilliant. a far better movie than RFAD, although after "the fountain (10/10) aronofsky's brilliance is undeniable. i felt on RFAD that he was leaning too heavily on cinematic techniques and a brillaint novel (which he effed up to some degree), but after seeing "teh fountain" a have to give him more credit. he made a 9/10 movie, which is an incredible acheievement period.

I honestly wanted to like ADAPTATION more than I did. It's got everything I like: self-loathing, writing, masturbation, twins for no good reason, possibly an alligator at some point, Merryl Streep on an adult website.
I'm kinda sad that it wasn't more like BEING JOHN MALKOVICH. That being sad, the images I've seen from Jonze's new WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE are magnificent.

You're probably on to something here. I have not watched the movie for a while. But I do enjoy the color of the film. Boyle's MILLIONS is also pretty good.

I don't smoke weed anymore, but I don't look at it as a drug.
If you have to manufacture it, or shoot or snort it, that's a drug IMO. If you can plant a seed, watch a plant grow, dry the product and then smoke it, that's not a drug.

I honestly believe that trainspotting was designed by a team of experts who's main goal was to repel former drug abusers from watching it.
