people, don't listen to the "bad twist in the end"- sayers.. they don't know what they are talking about, that is blasphemy, that's the devil talk... you listen to and watch the movie and love it, see it for what it truly is- a master piece..
I agree, High Tension is a superb movie which will start fucking with your guts the first 10 minutes into the movie. The "twist" people sometimes foresee, or sometimes get annoyed at, but, even these people still enjoy the movie itself.

GREAT thrasher / slasher flick.

I liked High Tension, but there is no way in hell you can ever convince me that the ending was even remotely possible.

***SPOILER ALERT i guess, according to a-hole poster after me but the only thing concrete "i spoil" is that the killer is an insane person really and i think thats not much of a spoiler.. ok maybe it also leads you to believe that the twist is not simple and that you should expect something shocking but we already knew that so.. i really don't know what the fuck is byukid talking about but anywayz SPOILER ALERT

ABOUT the SPOILERS* OK this was written as a response to the quoted post so it is best suited for the people who watched it and wanna discuss but i guess you can conclude that from the fact that i quoted the post and wrote this under it (ehh byukid) and if you haven't watched it and you don't wanna know anything about the movie then don't read this but there isn't really any concrete spoilers***

Cmon the movie was brilliant, really lived up to its name, and the twist was totally shocking and unexpected...don't rationalize the twist too much because we are talking about an insane person here, the twist explains that the movie is actually told, showed somewhat from a perception of a mentally insane person so the things that happened before the twist were real to her that is to the viewer as much as the things you percieve are real to you. Also the feelings and intensity you felt while watching the movie before the twist were real there is no denying them they happened, aswell the shock of the twist. The twist is actually genious to me and explains a lot of things, but this movie also scores on a higher level, aside the twist and the storyline, the movie was just directed excellently and very well made all around with good acting and brutal, horrific but artistic scenes of horror and with probably the most explicit, brutal and delightfully disguisting throat cutting scene ever...Alexander Aja is a genious.. 9.45/10 or on a 4 scale 4/4

sorry for the bad english no time to revise

p.s.

i watched Hellboy 2 i don't know how someone can be dissapointed with that, better than the first one to me 8.79/10

It's been quite a while since I saw either, but from what I can recall, I think I came to the same conclusion.

Both great, but I think Dog Day Afternoon comes out ahead.

How exciting is it that Scorsese is going to adapt that book? I feel like I'm the only one looking forward to that film.

I keep saying it and I'm going to say it all the way up until the film premiers: If Scorsese can pull off the ending as well on film as Lehane did in print, it's going to trump The Sixth Sense and even The Usual Suspects IMO.

Best scene of the film.

"Charlieeee! They took my thumb!!!"

The first time I watched it, I thought he died, but thankfully he just passed out

And I asked this in another thread recently, but with the recent talk of cartoons and The Pope of Greenwich Village, I figure I might as well try my luck here:

For anybody who has watched American Dad, I've only seen little bits here and there, so I have no idea what episode this is nor do I have any idea of any storylines in the episode in question.

All I know is that there's an episode that references The Pope of Greenwich Village. The kid with glasses lost his thumb or finger or something and the alien says to him, "Okay, now say, 'Charlie, they took my thumb!'"

I saw it once and haven't seen it since, can't find it on Youtube or anything, and nobody I've ever asked has had any idea what the hell I was talking about.

Does anybody here know from what episode that scene is from?

I'll say. The Book absolutely flipped me out when I read it. I literally dropped it out of my hands.
