So, IMO, don't feel bad.
Very true. You might pass up a gem here or there, but when you're going a 100 MPH through film after film, that's bound to happen once in a while.

Yuck.

For my money, taking into account song+video, I'd probably take Land of Confusion over everything else. That or Sledgehammer.

YouTube - Land Of Confusion - Genesis

YouTube - Sledgehammer - Peter Gabriel

I think Land of Confusion might have to win out for the 2001 reference

And speaking of music videos, maybe someone here will know this: I don't remember the song or the artist or when it came out or anything, but I remember there being a music video with a female singer and she's walking around a small town and every time she makes it around once, another version of her walks with her, so by the end of the song there's like seven of her walking around and singing.

It's really cool and I have no idea how they were able to make it look the way they did.

I think Collins did greater things in his solo career.
In The Air Tonight is just something unreal.

BUT this is a movie thread. Let's end this blasphemy.

..ok i finished watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall and contrary to my first impression based on the first 20 minutes of the movie i found it to be an "allright" and somewhat amusing picture, nothing special thou..
i still think the first 20 or so minutes are a bit too "heavy" but overall it was an ok and, again i say, amusing film that had a few good laughs in it..

Got a big one today, included in which is IMO the best film noir of all-time, arguably the most influential crime drama of all-time, and one of top ten greatest films period: The Maltese Falcon.

CLASSIC FILM 101: High Sierra (1941) and The Maltese Falcon (1941)

I'm not trying to short-change High Sierra, which is great, no question, but The Maltese Falcon is just on another level, and if you're not familiar with it, I'd strongly urge you to check it out.

Like I said: It came down to song+video. I wouldn't put Land of Confusion in a top ten, probably not even a top twenty list of the best Genesis songs, but it is a great song and the music video is great, too, IMO.

And IMO: Phil never did anything better in his solo career than In the Air Tonight. I Don't Care Anymore comes close, but even that song can't touch In the Air Tonight.

Not until someone can identify that music video I was talking about. I want to know what the hell that was

Pretty much my thoughts. Very weak effort but not quite bad.

Watchable with a couple of funny parts, particularly the scenes with Teila Tuli.

Earlier in the thread I think I used too strong a statement about how good the movie was...but it was good. I liked the story, and it was kind of inspirational. Not to mention the acting was very solid all around. Also, the prison portrayal etc. was really convincing IMO (maybe the story was a little far fetched, I don't know).

Anyway, so, 7.5/10.
