That's what I was getting, too. I think the isolation aspect is what one can draw a correlation to between
The Strangers and
Vacancy rather than its plot points.

All I know is that the trailer was very intriguing and I'm still holding out that it can entertain me

I'd love to say more, but i think you should just watch it. And when you watch it, don't think about whether or not it's good cinema, but rather whether or not its succeeding in making you feel completely awful for certain characters. I believe it'll start airing on Cinemax rather soon, so you won't have to wait long, unless you dont have that channel.

I don't have Cinemax, but even if I did, I probably wouldn't watch it on there because of pan-and-scan.
If I can find it at my library, though, I'll definitely pick it up.

I want to see
The Baxter after your mentioning it recently along with
Wet Hot American Summer, which I've seen and liked and wasn't aware that the same guys made
The Baxter.
Once doesn't appeal to me, though, so it's not a priority, and I thought
The Andromeda Strain was a TV show

I don't think I've ever come across thread burnout before

Definitely a bad ass ending.
