Back in the early to mid 90's, there was a debate as to which was the better game - Street Fighter II (and its dozens of spin-offs) or Mortal Kombat I & II. I tended to like Street Fighter II better, but loved both. So needless to say, I was PUMPED for the Street Fighter movie.

Talk about disappointment. It's like getting Jessica Alba naked, then realizing she has a dick. That movie was a HUGE let-down. Huge.

Classic example of why just because you are successful in one area of film it will not automatically carry over to others. Steven E. de Souza was actually one of the more bankable screen writers of the late 80s and early 90s. Die Hard, 48 hrs. Commando, Running Man. So after success as a TV producer/writer and a screen writer he was handed a big budget action movie to write/direct. He was able to get some fairly big name actors to sign on and then he laid a big turd.
