The Fourth Kind
It was okay. Great first half but it starts to get over the top towards the end.
Wolverine
I saw this last night and was suprised by how much I liked it, I expected it to be a shit fest. It had a pretty intersting storyline and was entertaining all the way through, plus the acting was good by all characters. The only problem was that it needed a better director and much of the effects looked silly. It looks like they'll be making a part 2 in Japan with a different writer and director next time, which is great.
Terminator Salvation
I saw it for the second time recently and didn't like it nearly as much (loved it the first time). Obviously people talk a lot about the logic and plot holes, but upon rewatching it, I thought there was another problem, they rushed a lot of great scenes in the beggining and let it drag in the middle with boring dialogue. For instance, an action scene was edited out of the machine hq in the beggining (as shown in the trailer), and the scene where Conner is talking with command leaders was also edited (extra scenes shown in the trailer)- those where the intersting scenes which were exciting yet it was so short. Then in the middle there's long dialuge which is kind of boring between Reese and Marcus...so I thought that was odd. Also there wasn't enough actions scenes between humans and terminators.
It's unfortunate how the rights for this movie are now being sold, McG was a great director for this movie. If another ever gets made, I hope they bring him back along with Bale and Worthington.
RE: Batman
I've always thought Bale was both the best Bruce Wayne and Batman...but Keaton had the best demeanor when playing Batman. Keaton's Batman never lost his cool, he was always relaxed and seemed more calculating and calm, like in the first movie where he grabbed that one bad guy by the jacket and then had to let him go (forgot why), he just put him down calmly and let him walk away and he (Keaton) showed no emtion the whole time before eventaully getting him, I thought that was really bad ass. I didn't like how Bale's Batman would lose his temper a couple of times and flip out, especially in TDK.
But I guess that goes more to the director/writer than the actor.
Have a great day

It's one of my must-watch list.
Hollywood is making a remake and coming out in 2010. It's new title is Let Me In. The kids are now played by Kodi Smit-Mcphee (The Road) and Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass). The director is Matt Reeves from Cloverfield fame. I'm pretty sure if I watch the original film, I'll be disappointed with the remake even if it will be good.

Well he has some hits and misses, hopefully The Wolfman is the former.

Looking at that I'm actually surprised he is directing The Wolfman.
Jumamji and The Pagemaster are great kid films.

I agree, it's so out of the blue in regards to him directing a dark noir horror film. But judging from his filmography, he is at least a very competent filmmaker. Maybe all he needs is a break and Wolfman may be it.

I disagree, not all of them "sucked". Honey, I Shrunk the Kids was pretty good back in the day. The Rocketeer was average but solid. Jumanji was also pretty decent. Haven't seen October Sky but it was highly acclaimed.

There are many purposes that region coding can achieve, but the primary one is price discrimination, i.e., allowing the manufacturer to demand a higher or lower price depending on what the market will allow. There is great disparity among the regions of the world in how much a person is willing to pay for a DVD, . Price discrimination is especially applicable to DVDs, as the marginal cost of selling one DVD is relatively small, allowing the seller a great deal of flexibility in pricing.
Another purpose is controlling release dates. One of the traditions of movie marketing that the advent of home video threatened is the practice of releasing a movie (to theaters) later in some countries than in others. Video tapes were essentially regional anyway, since video tape formats had to match those of the encoding system used by television stations in that particular region, such as NTSC and PAL. In theory at least, a DVD can be played anywhere, and without region coding, movie studios wouldn't be able to control the release dates of their DVDs so easily.

you should send me your top 25 favorite movies (ordered). you've been posting in here as long as i can remember and i think you should be apart of this...
a couple other issues:
valkyrie and redjacko both have lists without specifying order...i'm gonna send them a pm asking to order it...if they don't get back to me should i A) assume the order they sent it in is correct, or B) disclude the lists (for now at least)??
order is important and could affect the outcome if they are in fact out of order...
also: still waiting on soda and yeahbee to fix their lists...i'll probably start tallying tomorrow so try and hurry up.
