Amelie was great, and I can't complain about it being top 20. 10 or 15 might be pushing it, but with personal taste it's not hard to imagine it up there for some people.

Guess I'll sit this thread out.
Honestly, it's too soon for me to say as his career is just starting out. I mean how many people thought Tom Hanks was going to win an Oscar some day when they went to see Bachelor Party.

As it stands right now, Shia Lebouf is basically good at playing the same character. Again, that probably has more to do with his youth at this point and hey, starring in Transformers and the new India Jones has got to pay the bills rather nicely.

I hated Transformers mostly because of Michael Bay, everything I hate about Michael Bay's directing was overdone even more in Transformers, but a lot of people liked it so whatever.

I've commented on Norton before and while I do think he's a good actor, there are trivial things I can't get past. I couldn't get past his accent in the Illusionist, now I'm not saying it was Robin Hood Prince of Thieves bad, but at certain points It sounded british, then it sounded austrian to me. Big deal I hear most people say, but I noticed it and it seemed forced at times.

Transformers was a good entertainment movie, and I think at this point that's all that people should expect from the names on the poster for it. Shia Lebeouf has a career in hollywood, and he'll be rich and in a lot of big name movies. These movies wont be recognized much for artistic vision OR great acting... they'll stay similar to what he's done so far (while he's in this age of his career at least), and the movies will do well in the box office. He's typecasted, and until he can prove that he isn't just "that type of actor" (which idk if he can), he wont really be getting any roles.

I just saw Gone Baby Gone for the first time and felt I should give it some praise here. As a big Lehane fan, I was quite nervous when I first learned that Ben Affleck was going to direct the adaptation, but after seeing the film and hearing what he had to say about the film and what the actors had to say about working with him, I have a newfound respect for him and really hope he continues directing in the future.

The film itself was top notch and I highly recommend it to anybody who has yet to see it.

Man, I still need to see that, I heard it was good. Casey Affleck intrigues me.

edward norton is not as good of an actor as people believe. he had 3 "wow" roles with "primal fear" "fight club," and "american history x" where at some point in the film he was asked to act in a way that was out there or scary.

if you actually watch the movies though and forget about the unnortenness of the roles, you'll notice that he's still actually kind of the same.

Most people cite American History X and/or Fight Club as his premier roles.

But I think Primal Fear is his standout role up until now, and dare I say, I really liked him in the 25th Hour.

It was great. For me, though, I think Ed Harris stole the show. Casey Affleck was the main character (and performed very well, too) and Morgan Freeman was the "big star," but Ed Harris is the fucking man in my book and he was great here.

Considering the similarities in the subject matter, I'll make the analogy that his character was a darker, more conflicted Elliot Stabler.
