They've stolen my idea! I'm glad someone did. I'm not a music person at all, but I could listen to movies all day. I don't care how lame that makes me. I love this. This is going to me by soundtrack for when I'm driving 4 hours too and from WEC 36.

LAME! Movies are a visual medium... I need my visual! Going by a movie you liked (but I despised...) what would Into the Wild have been without visuals in it?
Small clips or speeches are fine. A whole movie? Nope.

It really depends on the type of movie. Movies with amazing dialog are able to hold their own just fine under a listen.
I'll use Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as another example. Amazing dialog, and still good when listening. Movies more based on stunning visuals, such as Jurassic Park... not so much.
Of course, nothing beats actually being able to watch a movie. I only listen to movies when I'm at work and unable to watch them. And if it is a movie i'm very familiar with, then I already have a good picture of what is happening anyway

It depends. I've seen Men in Black 30x's or more so it's not hard to know where I'm at in the movie just by hearing it. It's true that movies that are extremely dependent on visuals such as Into the Wild, and The Assassination of Jesse James would be hard to just listen to, but in a pinch such as while I'm driving I wouldn't be opposed to listening to a movie.
