Something funny. I watched USUAL SUSPECTS after I watched MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. It was because I watched MISSION IMPOSSIBLE first that I knew the twist from the very beginning. It's something Kittridge says to Hunt that makes all the sense in the world.
When I think of Keyser Soze as a villain, I don't rank him very high amongst the pantheon of truly great antagonists, such as Hans Gruber, HAL, and, dare I say it, Chong Lee. Reason why is Soze's only really cool in Verbal's story, about back in Hungary or Turkey or wherever the fuck he was from. Verbal sells Soze right there, but that's it. You don't see him doing anything else anywhere else: it's either shadows or stories. Lame stories. "He's a fucked up butchah." Yes, we saw that. Let's see what else he does. That's the problem with a villain who is absent throughout most the picture but pervades it. (Which is why the movie is funner the SECOND time around) A little-seen villain's gotta make his minutes count.
Like Nathan R. Jessup. Or The Operative from SERENITY. Or the shark from JAWS. Or as Bullitt would loathe me to forget: Harry Lime.
How about the trucker from DUEL? Scared the shit outta me. I like both versions of Max Kady but prefer DeNiro's; probably because I saw him first.
Lots of great villains out there comparable to Ledger's Joker. DeVito's Penguin for instance. "AT LEAST MY NOSE ISN'T GUSHING BLOOD!" And I love him as Mickey Bergman in HEIST. "I hate to do anything as dramatic as count to three but one ..."

And Cary Grant is the man.

Because I don't like every actor that has graced the silverscreen, even if they are venerated. Are there not some actors you don't like? Just like in real life, some people you just don't want to see. Pacino is one of those guys to me. He's on the same level as Bill O'Reilly only slightly less entertaining.
Switching gears a bit: I'll watch anything with Anne Hatheway in it.

I was surprised at the subject matter of The Bridge to Terabithia. As another poster mentioned, the twist of the movie still left me upset.
I just watched Step Brothers. It could have been much better. The subject material was there, but the laughs just weren't. I've noticed a trend with current comedies - being funny is being crude or perverse. There just aren't any comedies like Airplane! or The Naked Gun anymore, just comedies that are supposed to be funny because they curse a lot or talk crudely about sex.
Step Brothers = 5.5/10

The Operative in Serenity was amazing. I'm not going to get his name right, but it was something like Chiwetel Eijefor.

That's 95%!
Say it. Cheweh-tel Edgy-o-for. It's actually pronounced "ehj-o-for" but I put in the extra long E because it's spelled "Ejiofor." I had a hard time with it myself. I still can't spell Triple A, which is what I call the actor played Mr. Eko and whom most people call Adebisi.

I finally watched a Kurosawa movie that didn't involve tribal Japan/samurai. I didn't know what to expect with Stray Dog, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's about a policeman (Mifune) whose gun was stolen. As he learns who stole his gun, he also learns that it is being used to commit crimes. Kurosawa did a tremendous job of portraying the scorching heat of Tokyo in the movie. That being said, I still prefer Kurosawa's non-modern themed movies.
Stray Dog = 7.5/10.
I got Red Beard and The Hidden Fortress today via Netflix, as well as a movie that I think is underrated (The Cell).
Speaking of underrated, I know that P2 received horrible ratings, so I waited for it to hit the dollar theater before I went to see it. My expectations were shallow, but I found the movie to be rather enjoyable, partly because the lead female was so damn attractive. Still, it was much better than I thought it was going to be.
P2 = 7/10.

Stop forgetting ...And Justice for All!!!!
Underrated Pacino performance. And its got Lee Strasburg paired with him as well, just like in G2.
How can Pacino fans keep mentioning Scent of a Woman and not And Justice for All?
