Kidman...? I can't stand her, myself. For one she looks like a witch and secondly her style of acting is atrocious. It's gut wrenching.

wtf, she's old now, but her acting is top notch. watch "the others" and try to honestly say she can't act. she's one of like 6 hollywood actress who can act.

she might be able to act. i just dont like her. and that probably skews my opinion of her acting ability.

then in a couple of movies she'll be like crying and her mouth jaw looks like it's dislocated and boogies are hanging out of her nose- that's not acting. that's looking like a crying person. an actor plays someone crying while at the same time preserving the dignity of the character.

Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman are two really awesome actors. I also like a lot of supporting actors that no one else seems to care about - Michael Caine is the first who comes to mind. I think Keith David is a pretty good actor as well. Brendan Gleeson.
Here are a few contemporary actors that I enjoy watching.
Daniel Day-Lewis
Laurence Fishburne
Johnny Depp
Mel Gibson
Joaquin Phoenix
Dennis Haysbert
The Rock (yeah I know that's probably an unpopular pick but I stand by it)
Seth Rogen
Will Farrell
He hasn't acted in many movies recently, but I always enjoyed Clint Eastwood's acting. In fact, throw in his two companions in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (Lee Van Clief and Eli Wallach) and you have great acting jobs all around, IMO.
Michael Douglas' performance in Falling Down was tremendous. He absolutely carried that movie.

I also think Kidman is an excellent actress.
There's no way that Sandra Bullock is in the top 5 all-time in my personal opinion. No damn way. Probably not even top 20. I also think Julianne Moore is a bit overrated, but very good.
Milla Jovovich and Keanu Reeves are a lot alike - they pretty much have to be in an action movie to make it work.
I think Charlize Theron is a very good actress. And I always enjoy her copious amounts of nudity.
