I've gathered the lot of you are irreparable social misfits.
i'm not saying that men or women are better actors, but just that in most popular movies, there's such an emphasis placed on beauty, that you don't see necessarily the best actresses getting the best roles. like look at my top 5 i just posted, and yours: except for streep, they're all hawt. i'm sure there are tons of actress you aren't nec. hawt as fuck who could be great on screen, much like william h macy, dustin hoffman, et al. have had opportunities to do.

No, those are all serious. Bullock was kind of arbitrarily thrown in. Zeta jones has been in many of my favorite movies, Biel is nice to look at, and I thoroughly enjoy seeing Hatheway in any movie.

Current actresses? I agree with Kidman and Watts and Blanchett. I'd add Laura Linney and Frances McDormand...off the top of my head.

of course that isn't the case; all 5 i picked because they're sublime actresses. however, on the men's side, i could throw out a ton of names right off the top of my head who're of equal awesomeness, skillwise (i had to use google and shit for my female list)
