Replacement for Oink?
I just read an article on internet music piracy that was written because of the closure of Oink. I never got an account to Oink, my hook up never got an invite to share, and I regret that now. In that article they made Oink sound better than fucking Angelina Jolie while watching UFC.
They said you could get pretty much any album you want. Even if it was super obsecure you could request it and it was likely someone would find it. The quality of MP3s was superb cause they strictly enforced it. You could browse the collections of people who liked similar artists to discover new bands you hadn't heard of. Best of all they enforced their share ratios so that things were constantly seeded which resulted in sick transfer rates.
I missed out on all of that! But I'm thinking now that there's gotta be some sort of site that tried mimicing Oink. I haven't found a band I really like lately and so I'm particularly interested in the browsing of other people's favourite bands. Anyone have any idea if any site like Oink exists?

There are lots of private trackers out there.
The problem is they are oversubscribed or have closed registration. The rest (and usually the best ones) are unknown in the community as a whole.
There was the MMA tracker that shut a few years ago. That place was brilliant for anything mma, but shut down after a few years of operation.
Shame

Nothing beats Napster from 8 years ago. IT was so basic yet so awesome.
I don't have a burner so I don't really bother downloading music besides listening on Youtube.
