Fanny and Alexander is awesome if you have a weekend of or something it is ridiculusly long, a miniseries really, it is always on around christmas so I watch it every year

Bergman isn't my cup of tea tbh, sure I have watched the classics but there are some others movies that should have a higher international fame

Dom Kallar oss Mods: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062900/
basically a trilogy, a documentary about two junkies in the 60ths/70ths and 90ths. really intense

Killinggänget (Killing not literary it is a name so the Gang of Killing, a comedy group http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killinggänget

all sorts of things tv-series, short movies live shows you name it

especially Torsk På Tallin: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0378893/

Other great Swedish movies
Picassos Adventures: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078084/ a dadaistic comedy with no real dialogue it is all jibberish in english, french german swedish so everybody can understand it!

Sällskapsresan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sällskapsresan a comedy about a losers/nerd travelling first to Mallorca(movie 1) then the Alps) etc etc 5 movies total

Also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sjöwall_and_Wahlöö crime writers from Sweden, their stuff from the 60ths/70ths are solid police thrillers the new stuff is boring

>Gotta plug a new Swedish movie to

A great anime, even if you don't like anime (I am no psecial anime fan) it is a great samuria tale about love, revenge, with a great poetry and music to it

American Beauty. It's realistic and all the elements seem to fit together perfectly.

american beauty is a great film. id recommend the big lebowski and fargo, plus shaun of the dead. if you want something a little more thought provoking, im a big fan of vanilla sky.
