Also i think after a really long time it spoils.

I once found a bottle of whiskey in my grandmothers house after she died, and it must have been 150 years old, and there was a brown cloud at the bottom and the top half looked like clear water

I have a collection of homemade schnapps my grandfather made over 20 years ago, made with medical alcohol (grandma was a nurse so he didn't have to do moonshine which is common where i live)

It is flavoured with the msot odd things, like wasps, dried oranges, carrots, peppers and loads of stuff, we drink one shot every year at midsummer, tastes like new shit
