A dead brain is not a mind but still is a brain.
So much more is possible with a million dollars that you could make yourself happy somehow. Working at a gas station and being happy would be good, but there would always be things that you could never do or see.
Life really is all about money. It boils down to freedoms, and money buys you that freedom.
Think of it as whoring yourself out to society for 40-60 years, then reaping those rewards for 10-20, then dying.
I would love to get a million bucks with no strings attached, but for me, money doesn't automatically = happiness. It depends on the person and his values and stuff like that and so forth. I live a pretty decent life, but it could be better. I think my life would be better if I had a better relationship with my family and money won't fix that. Well, maybe it can if you're creative with it. Some people are torn by religious or philosophical beliefs and money won't fix their inner plight.
Let's say a guy is suffering from TFL (being an extreme vigrin loser) gets awarded millions of dollars. Some guys may use that money to buy new clothes, get gym membership and so on to better themselves. Some guys may use it to buy more cheetos and games so they can lock themselves away from society even more.
Money can bring you freedoms but not everybody realizes this or knows the right way of using your money to bring happiness. I know a few people who are rich and I rather not have their lives because they suck at life.
I just couldn't imagine myself not happy with millions of dollars though.
me to
I would be unhappy working at a gaststation, but tbh I am not aiming to make alotta money in my career
I will make regular money and have a fulfilling job
but i would be willing to drive a bus if I earned millions

That tends to be rich folk that have never known what it is to be poor; Spoiled kids who inherit money, child actors, etc. If I were to receive a million dollars, there's no way that would make me unhappy. I've had some really shitty jobs. I actually had some great times working in low level, laboring work. You seem to find a lot of characters in those types of jobs. I've also had some good times working in office jobs. You have to make the most of what you have. If I had a million dollars, doesn't mean I'd start sniffing the nose candy and wasting it all away on prostitutes. Working at a gas station vs. getting a million dollars? No brainer, million bucks all the way. Money doesn't make a person. We are who we are.
I dont know how accurate it is to assume that the ones who turn desperate are usually those things, Ive seen my fair share from people in my home neighbourhood in Ireland who made it huge in the boom and are a wreck of problems now, despite being loaded.
It just seems to me to be a false paradigm that you can buy your happiness. I just think there is so much more to being happy than being able to afford things that are for sale.

The key is you said so-so with the million. I have had years where I have had no money, and years that I have had tons. I have been happy in both. Money makes some issues go away, but there is a saying that the more you have the more you worry about losing it. Id pump gas.

I agree. I mean having money is of course awesome but a lot of people seem think money = perfect happiness. For some people less is more.
Watch the whole thing, he talks about this subject a lot, very intelligent guy.
