Question about motherboard / power switch
Yeah. I've been trying to run my mobo (and entire computer) out of the case, and tried to get a power switch to connect to the mobo so I could turn it on / off. (i'm no talking about the power supply. i'm refering to the actual LED power switch that you connect from your computer case to your motherboard)
Apparently; the LED power socket (please correct me if this isn't the correct term) from my tower case doesn't fit on my motherboard. The Power LED Connecter from my computer case is long and narrow and has 7 holes I believe. The power connecter on my motherboard looks to have 4x5 pins. Therefore; I cannot attach it and give power to my motherboard.
So; I was curious if anyone could educate me on the different connectors that are available in reference to the LED power connecters that go from your motherboard to your power switch on your case.
At this point i'm looking to purchase a case for my motherboard. What should I look for to make certain that the Power LED switch on the case will have the correct connecter to be compatable with my motherboard?
Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks
