Icon14 PUAs like Neil Strauss, David DeAngelo, Mystery, etc

I been looking at the mayberry a lot, I don't post much in there but I been a member a while and notice in the last year a bit of a "trend" I guess you can call it. Threads about dating, women, and gaming in general pop up somewhat often. So I wanted to see if we can get a discussion goin about the "PUA" or pick up artists. These guys who study and know the female psyche down to a science.

I wanted to get everyones opinion on the whole subject in general. If you have been into it, how has it changed your life/perspective(s)? If you haven't, what is your impression of it? Good idea? Bad Idea? Why? Why not?

The whole "value" thing makes tons of sense.

Zeke's Chaingun has made a couple threads on dating which are based on the same "theory" if you wanna call it that, I hope he comes on and posts those links on this thread.

David DeAngelo is really awesome to listen to. If you can, try to download some of his stuff.

As an "art" or method of approach, I respect it.
As a business strategy and marketing ploy I hate it.

If a man wants to go around picking up women then it's good stuff to learn, but with business comes preying on the average male over their insecurities. For those who don't actively concern themselves with the number of women they pick up, I'd rather not have people trying to label them as failures when they have other priorities or contributions to society.

I think a lot of their observations are interesting. I read the Mystery Method and was impressed at how dissected female attraction and social interaction was.

I'm not going to start changing my life around it though.

I dont know about you guys, but i was dedicated at first, but after while it seems really demanding, and it kind of takes over other priorities. I remember when reading the game they were mentioning how a mans business was failing, some student was neglecting his work, etc.
