It drives me nuts.
As I do like games a great deal.
But I want a bluray player.
Money is tight enough that buying both seems ludicrous.

So my decision is:
Is bluray "better enough" than dvd to justify wanting a player (especially when you figure that DVDs go for $5-$20, when blurays go for $25-$35)

and weigh that against

360 is a pretty sweet 'media server'
360 has more/better games (by my taste)

and

360 frustrate people with fairly poor reliability (pretty bad failure rate for a piece of consumer electronics and definitely poor compared to the ps3)

and

I hate Sony as a company (I'm a young lawyer that have been frustrated with their long history of legal bullying, their rootkit, their proprietary memory cards for cameras etc, proprietary minidisc silliness, and their prickish PR people)

and

Most of the games I am most interested in are on both systems.

conclusion:
I'll wait for another couple of months.
I'm actually leaning toward ps3 right now, as I would get to use a bluray player more than I would get to use another game system.

Many people believe so. I don't have it so I couldn't tell you.

Consider the PS3 if you really like movies for Blu Ray.

Also, in addition to looking at the list of already released AAA games, look at what games are coming up. Do you want GT5, Final Fantasy XIII, and MGS4? Or do you want Too Human and Ninja Gaiden 2? There are others, but those were just some examples.

Also, many of the "exclusive" 360 games other than Halo are also on the computer. If you have a good gaming computer, the PS3 might be the better bet.

get a ps3 is simple as that.

u get blu ray player + games.

****l gear solid is coming next month. both systems have gta 4, some websites say ps3 is the better version.

and please if u decide to buy a 360 at least wait it outt. 360 manufacturers are pointing towards a blu ray drive inside the 360 within months.

save yourself head aches buy yourself a ps3. is the total package.

MS has repeatedly made statements that they will not ever include bluray.
It would require a system redesign.
They weren't willing to do it with their own format.

There hasn't even been legit talk of an external bluray drive.

So I have my doubts.

I have no interest (at this time) for metal gear. (or ****l, as you call it...)

bluray player + games is a good package.
but the 360 exclusives are pretty sweet (but it has been pointed out that they are available on PC, too...)

There are pros and cons for both.

360 - big game library with great exclusive titles, Xbox Live, high hardware failure rate
PS3 - Blu Ray player, built-in WiFi, fairly small game library

Because HD-DVD died tragically, I had to give in and buy a Blu Ray player. The PS3 is arguably the best BR player for the price and is fully upgradeable to future profiles. I also use it to wirelessly stream videos and music from my PC to the PS3 - and it works great. Games were a secondary issue for me - I only have GTA IV. There are three or four other games I have on my list to purchase.

You get more for your money with the PS3. However - if you're a serious gamer, right now the 360 is probably the best choice (along with an extended warranty).
