so if your memory is wiped when you go to heaven and your family makes it to heaven aswell, would you recognize them? i consider myself a christian but there are alot of things i dont understand in the bible.

i have heard many respectable preachers say that heaven and hell is a physical place. i remember watching a jack van impe show awhile back and he talked about what he thought hell was and where he thought it was. his theory was that hell was actually a black hole that has sucked countless number of stars, light, thus creating unimaginable heat. he went into better detail then i could but that is basically what he talked about. he broke it down by bible verses and science.

A driver he knew told him that they had been told to sedate everybody with a medication known to erase short term memory. The Soviets use this drug in the treatment of shock victims."

Who is this 'we'? It is all about choices and way of living your life. The only church that really forces religion on you is Jehovah witnesses and that is because their religion requires them to preach to become the elect. You can chose to believe or not believe what differences does it truely make in your life other than cussing? If anything, adding religion to your life gives you respect, manners, and personal growth and erases your fear of death. And whether or not this heaven or hell exists or not you wont be looking like an idiot if its a real place.

You don't need to go to church and support a pastor or preist. Church is for people who need help spirtually or feel compelled to worship to prevent backsliding. Infact, the bible says whenever there is 2 (or 3 I forgot) there I am also. Which means to me that you don't need a church at all. You can pray, worship, or do whatever you want in the comfort of your own home if you wished. So no one is forcing you to do or think anything. If you feel this 'pressure' that might be your own self that hates the fact that perhaps you are not in control of your life?

Think of Religion as a form of mediation, relaxation, comfort, stress reliever, eliminates fear of bills, relationships, death, beating addictions etc etc. Religion used for growth is a wonderful thing, but used in the wrong hands for money, power, or high horse ego is another thing.

I.e. using God to beat Crack and getting out of a gang = Good
Using God to cause a Holy War and murder innocents = Bad

ofcourse everyone pretends the good does not exist and only see the bad. If something helps someone isnt it worth it? I mean if Presciption drugs for depression work for people would you want to stop them? So if Religion or this false God works for people to remain sane or support their families isnt it worth it? So I wouldn't bash any religion or God if it helps people

2. See second sentence of point 1. Hell is the grave. The greatest gift god gave to you was life. The worse he can do is take it away. Joseph was in "hell" when he was swallowed by the whale. Jesus was in "hell" for 3 days. Hell is the grave. Read the bible.

This pretty much sums it up.

No one really wants to die but it is inevitable. I'm sure there is nothing more comforting than the feeling of knowing that when you die you will be in a paradise far more captivating than earth could ever be. People who really believe this are held hostage to a doctrine that will dictate their thoughts and behaviors.

Think about it. If you were going to start a cult/religion and had intentions of controlling people wouldn't this be the perfect concept?

We have no evidence of an afterlife. None. People need to fess up and realize that death is a long dreamless sleep no different than what it was like before you were born. A void.

If it is argumentative then why don't you argue it? So far your post is comical. Jesus in hell? Jesus is god. Do you not see just a few problems with this?
