Preparing for a test, am I crazy?
So I have went to take a general math knowledge test, and math arithmetic test two times in the past 3 months, the score I got was pitiful. So, basically if I fail this test again I will not be able to take it for 6 more months which means im stressed like crazy about this upcoming test. I'm not going to say what for test it is, but it is directly related with ASVAB testing and SAT testing. Math knowledge and arithmetic, and some verbal skills.
The test is in 7 days and I have studying about an hour a day the past 2 weeks, the past 3 days I have been study on an average of 5 hours a day. And going to sleep doing math problems in my head. I am socially voided at the moment too. I don't even answer my cell phone. I eat, sleep, fwap thinking mathematics. De-realization sets in somtimes. I drink green tea almost 24/7. I plan on doing this the next 7 days leading up to this test.
I am running and doing BW exercises also during the week, However I am not leaving the inside of my head. I miss people already but I cannot be side tracked.
I am now going to be studying up to 6-8 hours a day with breaks on the hour for sherdog posting and a phone call maybe, and some tv leading up till tuesday.
Has anyone done anything like this before when preparing for a test or important exam?
Am I mentally in danger? Any tips? Have you?

You're doing perfectly. Some people don't prepare for test, and some people do -- that's perfectly okay.
What's not okay is not preparing when you need to.
Good job, bucko.

Yeah. I try to prep 4-6 weeks for important entrance exams. Not 8 hours a day like you're doing, but maybe an hour or two at least.
Good luck.

It's not quantity of time it's quality bud. You know if the time you are spending is quality. If you can spend a quality 8 hours then do it but if it's a quality 2 hours and 6 of semi-blah then re-evaluate. Remember to get a good nights rest make sure you eating well and cycle down a couple of days before the test. Just like a fight so you don't "over train" the brain.
Good luck.

I did 8+ hours a day for about 10 weeks months studying for the bar exam. I actually had myself bant from here so I could focus.
I took a prep course which consisted of 3-4 hours of class 5 days a week + 4 hours of studying outside of class.
When the classes ended I actually studied at the local sports center for 2-3 hours a day, would work out an hour and then grab lunch. After lunch I'd relax, maybe study 2-3 hours, then get dinner. After dinner I'd put in another 2-3 hours at starbucks or barnes&noble.
I took this test back in the end of July and I don't get my results for another couple months. I'll have to kill myself if I failed.

Flashcards are a good method of studying.
