Poker players?

Who here plays poker? I play online at pokerstars for fake money and go to the casino sometimes and play 1 2 no limit tables.

I've never understood how people can sit on their couch and watch other people play poker.

I just got back from Vegas after playing poker during the weekend. On my last hand, I went all in after the flop with pocket Qs (over $300 in the pot), and the guy was on a pure flush draw. He caught his club on the river. Son of a bitch.

Only been playing seriously for a few years... I went pro about a year ago. It's been going really well, much better than I would have expected. I play medium limits... recently moved up to $20/40 Limit. I pretty much just play Hold'em, there isn't much of a reason to play something else right now. I do have a small home game that plays a forced rotation... it's tomorrow (well tonight) actually.

I don't play online at all anymore actually. Being able to physically see my opponents is just too important when we're talking about making a mortgage. I'm not saying that you can't be a winning player by playing online... I know some pros who make a killing online and wonder why I don't cut in, but I just prefer live games... I feel like I'll make better decisions and fewer mistakes. I can also help myself avoid being trapped by big hands, I've also questioned the integrity of some sites and some players.

If there are any semi-pro players here that are one fence about taking another step... feel free to PM me about it (I recently transitioned). I know that NL Hold'em is everyone's game of choice, but I would really try and pitch testing the waters in Limit Hold'em if you think you'd like to try it. I found that I averaged much more money per hour playing Limit... and now I play Limit almost exclusively (when I'm playing for amounts that have serious meaning to me), unless I'm training for a NL tournament or playing in a small home game with a bunch of people my age who insist on NL Hold'em because it's what they see on TV.
