The saying is : I could care less.

Its the Americanised version of the old English saying "I couldn't care less" which is a saying to demonstrate that something matters so little to you that you are incapable of giving any less consideration or care to the matter, hence, I couldnt care less. A demonstration of pure apathy to a scenario or issue or whatever.

However, "I could care less", which is used for the same purpose of demonstrating apathy towards something and that you are incapable of caring any less about it, makes no sense whatsoever and is actually a totally redundant comment. If you are capable of caring less or you could care less, than what is the point of saying it? "I am capable of caring less about subject X", ok, so how does that relate to expressing apathy?

Folks, the saying is "I couldn't care less," the version many of you use makes no sense in the terms its used in.

That is all.

I think it's supposed to be sarcastic. I say I could care less, but really couldn't.
