Online chess site.

My son loves to play chess, I like it, but I suck. He has beaten me a couple of times. Are there any sites that we can go to where he can play, but also learn?

I'd get him a computer game. On line chess sites have a lot of people that are really good. I like playing chess and I'm not awful, but I'm not great. That being said, I've been on chess sites where I've been beaten in three moves. For a kid, its very easy to give up without a lot of positive reinforcement. Let him play a computer then he can decide how hard the level is and progress slowly at his own pace. Also on those chess sites you can chat. The guy that beat me in three moves went off about how miserable I am and how I must suck at life and so on and so on. Granted I'm sure I've had more sex this week then he ever will (I had sex twice this week). But you don't want your kid exposed to ass holes like that while he is trying to develop a potentially serious talent.

Sucks to lose to your kid huh? But I guess it is probably cool at the same time.

You may have a basic chess game program already on your hard drive. Theyre pretty common.
