yeah correct me if i'm wrong, but general relativity is based on non-euclidean geometries correct? that is, instead of the familar 3-dimensional coordinate system that elementary (newtonian) physics deals with and that everyone can picture in their head, you have to wrap your head around a geometry of space-time and its curvature in different regions.
i think that instantly rules it out as making 'common sense'. i think the only people that TRULY understand general relativity are the many mathematicians and physicists that specialize in it. the basic things like 'time is not constant' or 'everything is relative' most people grab, but the implications of that stuff is not so easy to pick up.
