Is it normal....

Is it normal to completely just blank out on a regular basis. My wife says she tells me things and I dont remember a thing sometimes. I know sometimes that she doesnt say that, because i can argue the contradiction. But im noticing that im not remembering anything after been told, especially by my wife, and mom.

This has happened every since our child was born. Im wondering how serious it might be, or if my wife is tryingto pull a quick one. It freaks me out cause i get the feel that i was told whatever it is she brings up but really dont have any recollection.

Anyone else have this? Or am i just getting retarded on my own?

Do you have no memory of the time in question?

It is not uncommon for us to slip into trances... it can happen driving, wathing TV, walking, just about anything.

But do you mean to say to COMPLETELY blank out? What would others observe of you dureing these states?

When I was younger I used to slip into a very odd sort of trance where I was sort of paralysed and reality would get all wonky for a few minutes. I have a theory as to what it was but I guess I'll never know - it doesn't happen anymore.

Odds are, this is brought on by stress. Are you sleeping enough? My hunch is "no" if you just had a child. Most likely, it's your body telling you to chill out.

Yeah it's normal, I don't know what the medical term is, but basically all it's is, is that your give a damn factor is lower as the years add on.
Personally all I hear my wife say is dinner, sex, sleep, and you sleep in I'll take the kid to school. Anything that she want's to argue about other than that she wins by default/my low give a damn factor.
Hope that helps you...

My wife says the same thing to me all the time. It is because I am not listening because I am focused on something else and placating her with "Yes babe".

An hour later she asks again and my response is "What the hell are you talking about?"
