So I was looking for news about a possible sequel to the Dark Knight, and it sounds like Aaron Eckart leaked that Christopher Nolan won't be back for the sequel. This sucks because the guy restarted the franchise and IMO nobody can replace him. Hopefully he'll have a change of heart, because I don't want to see it go back to the George Clooney era. if it's true that he's leaving it will probably be like burton's series where he had his 2 movies, and then they just continued making the movies in a similar style but with increasingly horrible quality.

let's hope it never reaches the same depths as 'batman and robin' although i cannot see how this one could go so horridly wrong.

Nolan's contract has always been for a trilogy. It also provides him with the ability to make one movie of his choice in between Batman films (like The Prestige). He'll make something non TDK related next and work on the third installment in a year or so.
