Need some suggestions on novels
My girlfriend and I have began reading novels/books together. We do this because we're currently long-distance and it's something we can actually do together. Anyway, we've finished the following books:
Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom
No one belongs here more than you. by Miranda July
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
We liked all three of them very much, so if any of you have read any of those and have some similar suggestions, then that would be great. Thanks.

Wow, you actually liked those books?
I would recommend for you:

I'm personally a huge fan of Kurt Vonnegut, everyone of his books are very creative and interesting to read. And they aren't super long either which I kinda like since I don't have a terribly long attention span. Anything by him would be a good choice. Here's some randoms to check out next time you're at the library or bookstore that I like:
Ironweed - William Kennedy
Stranger in a Strange land - Robert Heinlein
Slaughter House 5, Breakfast of Champions - Kurt Vonnegut
Moist - Mark Haskell Smith
Everything is Illuminated - Jonathan Safran Foer
A Sniper in the Arizona - John J Culbertson
On the Road - Jack Kerouac
Cannery Row - Steinbeck
A Childhoods End - Arthur C. Clarke (one of the best books I have ever read)
The Lords of Discipline, Beach Music - Pat Conroy
Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury
Some books I heard were good and have not gotten a chance to read yet:
Nobodies - John Bowe
Merchant of Death - Douglas Farah and Stephen Braun
For the Sins of my Father - Albert DeMeo
Choke - Chuck Palahniuk
Imperial Life in the Emerald City - Rajiv Chandrasekaran
The World Without Us - Alan Weisman
You can look them up on Amazon.com to get a description of each.

I forgot to add that I also need some suggestions as well, I'm running out of ideas every time I look for something to read.

Why wouldn't I like them? I'm don't read a whole lot, but I usually like any book I read. Or are you just making some homosexual joke?
Thanks Mohawk.

Allow me to recommend:
The Kite Runner by Khaleid Housseini, a deep thought provoking novel about friendship, and redemption. A very good contemporary novel.
Igorot also made me think, if you read Steinbeck Cannery Row is my personal favorite novel, a beautiful tale of the human condition.

We've read 3/5 of those. Haven't read Moby Dick or Old man and the sea though. She likes more modern type indie crap. I'll try to convince her though, thanks.

I've read The Kite Runner as well. Have you read his next book "A Thousand Splendid Suns"? Do you know if it's as good?
