I really really hate the NBC coverage. Their cable branches actually show sports, but their national broadcast coverage is a huge pile of sappy nonsense that edits together stories and events to lead on the audience rather than letting us watch some goddamn sports.

yeah i hate how they try to make a soap opera out of everything.
some of the stories are actually cool, but most of it is duuumb, like the one about the french swimmer whose boyfriend leaked nudes of her.

Of course, prime time on NBC itself is devoted to gymnastics. Yawn...

The NBC coverage is terrible. I get the Detroit feed and they put "Live" at the top corner of the screen on things that happened an hour before hand like last nights 4x100M relay.

NBC said it was showing live. I watched it on CBC here in Canada about an hour or so earlier.

i was laughing my ass off about that. seriously?? this is not an olympic story. if you're going to waste my time on stories, can we at least get a good "child has spina bifida" or "had a horrible car accident, was told they'd never walk again" sobfest?

I don't get why they highlighted her. She ended up dead last in that even if I recall.
