What do you think happened to her?

I personally think the Dutch teen (Joran Van Der Sloot) is innocent.

He did an interview with Dateline against his lawyer's advice and I just go the vibe he was telling the truth. HE says he partied with her, made out with her on the beach, and she was really, really wasted and he left her there. It's a shitty thing to do, but I believe he is telling the truth.

I think it was one of those things where he was trying to get into her pants, she was piss drunk, she was prob hard to deal with, he realized he wasn't going to get inher pants, and left her there on the beach, thinking she would be safe.

I think some locals then probably found her and took advantage of her, possibly raping her and dumping her body in the ocean.

Sad, sad story.

I think the kid is guilty. His dad has all these connections with high placed people on the island, don't know exactly who, but it was very suspicious. There was a special about it on Dutch tv a while ago. But I agree it's just a sad, sad story, whether he is guilty or not.

The amount of money and effort spent on that search was obscene. Nothing like a completely disproportionate level of concern to remind this nation's dejected of their status.

She's shark food. The white boy Van der Sloot's daddy is a very powerful man, and he still couldn't pull off a successful blame switch on the brown man.

The pics aren't necessary. There's not a person in the Western world who could have escaped the pity bombardment of the media. Imagine if that effort was spent on something that could actually lead to a change of some sort.

I'm going to look up crime statistics for the Island. I'd bet that a highly-publicized death of this nature was potentially crippling to their dominant industry, and that security was stepped up significantly. Probably a great place to go isix months following her death. Earlier than that though, and I'd assume that the massive descent of news media douches upon the island actually drove tourism related costs up.

Sadly, I would tend to agree. From all the pics and descriptions of her actions on the island, it sounded like she acted like an idiot. Her fault for getting piss drunk. Joran will never be charged and they will never find her. I think Joran at least knows what happened but they will never be able to prove anything. Nancy Grace needs to STFU about this case. Her attacks on Joran make me want to punch her in that beak-like nose of hers.
