I wouldn't work at a place like that. I love my job where I sit on my ass the entire night....wouldn't accept any less!

Btw the customer volume is very low, most of the work is basically computers and paper work
Do you live in China? First thought that comes to mind.

Worst job I ever had was working security at the docks. I worked one weekend only and then quit .The shifts were 10 hours long and standing more or less in place for that time was not only mind-numbingly boring, but it was also painful for my lower back and knees (and I'm in excellent shape).

Such a policy (as mentioned in the OP) is pointless and annoying. Some dickless manager wanting to throw his weight around and "show that be means business", although the only thing he will do is alienate most of his staff and make the working enviroment intolerable.

that's iilegal in CA and most other states

although most people don't know it.

you are required to have a uninterupted half hour meal break according to labor laws.

a second one if required to work over 10 hours

A friend of mine is doing a case right now for 6 years of missed lunches

the emplyer a dentist thought she could get away with it becasue she had the employees verbally agree to it. EPIC FAIL

basically at first it sounded to me like the wife was working at a payday loan place (goto pg 4) and those places are basically like a bank.

so i was critical of the TS because at banks, they don't allow tellers to sit either, so why should the wife be so special?

but then i thought about it and saw that i was jumping to conclusions, and policed myself.
