My next counsole? (ps3,360,wii)

Hello everyone, only up until this point have i realised that its probably time to get a new counsole because there are so many games im interested in. question i have is which counsole would be best at this point.

I am really into Action games so i know xbox 360 can deliver but im also HEAVY into the nintendo series but i am having a hard time choosing because im not really to smart on the technical aspects. Im really into actions and fantasy.

Any tips you guys could give?

well the problem with PS3 is that the flagship titles are all coming out at around the same time like 6 months from now.

In a year or so I think it'll really take off.

That's when i'll get one. it'll be a bit cheaper too.

Yeah this is when I plan on getting one as well.

If you can't wait, then I'd go for an xbox360.....just my opinion.

I'd say it's best to wait on all three, if you can't wait then 360 is probably the best way to go. Here's my take on each.

Nintendo Wii - Lots of fun for everyone to play. Nintendo really hit the spot with Wii Sports, anyone and everyone around a Nintendo Wii will pick it up in 2 minutes and have alot of fun to play. The design scheme really forces developers to experiment with what works and what doesn't, which will probably bear fruit in an year or so with some great titles. Right now, there aren't that many titles coming out and alot of them are still figuring out how best to utilize the control scheme. The past three months and this next three will probably be a bit of a drought.

Xbox 360 - Great all around console with plenty of action titles to choose from. Not much standout games have come out from non-FPS genres other than Oblivion, but that should change in the summer with all the new titles in the pipeline like Mass Effect. If you're willing to shell out 50 bucks an year, the online experience is the best you will get on a console right now. The overheating/failure is the highest among all three consoles, which is to be expected because Microsoft is a soft-ware centered company. It might be better to wait for the Elite version if you want a bigger HD and HDMI connection though. But, and correct me if I'm wrong, nothing really takes advantage of HMDI except the HD-DVD drive add-on which will set you back another 200 bucks. Either way, I would wait for the Elite and a possible price drop but it's the best purchase you can make right now imo.

PS3 - System with tons of potential and a hell of a hardware. Comes with free solid online play, which is great if you want to just plug and play without having to pay extra anything. Non-game online components like the store and demos need a ton of work compared to Live. There are some great games out already like Resistance, Motorstorm, and VF5, which isn't too shabby for a system that's only been out for 5 months or so. There are more in the pipeline such as MGS4 and FFXIII. There are rumors of those going multi-platform though, so if those games are your main thing I'd wait and see if they'd pop up on the 360. It's not only one of the cheapest Blu-ray players available, it's also the best according to many HD-centric website reviews. Price is obviously a huge concern. If you do want everything that comes with the system (HDD, online play, Blu-ray, HDMI) then it's a tremendous value. If you don't care about Blu-ray or the HDD, then maybe you should go for a 360 core or something cheaper. I'd personally hold out for a price drop and some more games to come out, since I don't have an HD TV anyways. Also, God of War 3 will bring back Rumble for the controllers so that's another thing to think about.

Me personally, I'm probably gonna buy a PS3 simply because Sony is my favorite developer along with Capcom right now. God of War 2, Shadows of the Colossus, and Resistance are 3 of the 5 favorite games I played in the last year or so (others inclue Okami, Guitar Hero series). Capcom is leaning more towards the 360 though, so we'll see how things turn out. That's a big reason for me to wait too.

The 360 will prolly be the best bang for your buck, lot of solid games out no for it and assassin's creed and halo 3 coming out soon.

PS3 there were a handful of title i was interested in such as heavenly sword which seems to be an amped up god of war/devil may cry game. but not willing to dish out 600 for it. I was extremely happy when they decided to release god of war II on ps2.

Wii finally got around to playing it, ill give it credit its very entertaining. For a group of ppl it's has alot of benefits. You can download and play classic nintendo games which is a plus, and sports games like madden play well. It's jus if ur a more dedicated gamer the other genre's of gaming haven't really been tested. And there first attempts at fps sucked so.

So personally go with the 360, buy a wii since it's cheap if u can afford both. As for ps3 hope that eventually some of the games will be brought over to the 360 platform
