Ah the frivolous lawsuit...the new pathway to the American dream sadly.

I'm sure she has already contacted an attorney right? It would be cool if she had some bulldog attorny that hates attorneys and counter-sues the hell out of this guy. I don't know if that's possible because I'm not a lawyer (preemptive strike: and neither are any of you so sthu plz), but you know how they have ways of coming up with this stuff.

About the only thing that makes me feel better when hearing about stuff like this is knowing karma is a mother f*cker, and there is a special place in hell for people like that guy.

Good luck!

I had something like that happen to me many years ago. a friend borrowed my truck and was in an accident. So one year and 364 days later I get sued, my dad get sued...for the same stuff you are talking about. Your insurance company should take care of that. If they give you...well her...the runaround...you need to send a certified letter to them demanding they take care of it.....cause that's what insurance is for. That's what I did...I basically gave everything to the insurance company and told them it was their problem. They took care of it.

Of course....the alcohol could make that all mute. I dunno...in my friends accident that wasn't an issue.

Its another way to hit a lottery jackpot, get in an accident and take all concerned to the cleaners.

Money grabbing is evil and it destroys lives, people that this dude will crawl over anything and screw over anyone to get it, it horrible.

My condolences, she screwed up but doesnt deserve the mental anguish and physical torment she is being subjected to.

yea thats some shaddy shit hopefully she'll get a good lawyer and a decent judge that will see through all the crap and just throw out the case. I mean the guy just happens to be sueing near the cut off date guess he got to comfortable living off the settlement. As far as the ticket goes can't she appeal it, i dunno if she will have the option though since she had the dui on her record. Just poor timing I guess.

WTF? If he settled then the insurance company should've made him sign a waiver for any future claims or lawsuits. When I was in an accident several years ago I had to sign one before I saw any money.

calfc82 : its hardly like an innocent guy got hurt for no reason. from what the story is, it sounds like he either is a really fucking bad driver, or he deliberately drove into her in order to sue. i doubt the second one but you never know..

ualue: i think mens rea is a lawyer..

why is it that in the us(this is the only country I KNOW where this is) there are always people being sued for rediculous amounts of money for ridiculous things. this really amazes me
is there a logical explanation for this?
